Find a couple of minutes today to watch this mesmerizing effects reel for Wes Anderson's most recent work of art, Grand Budapest Hotel.
Anderson is known for the instense attention paid to the texture, color, and angle of every single object that shows up in each near-perfect frame of his films, masterfully crafting the look of everything the viewer takes in- both consciously and atmospherically.
What a viewer like myself has never considered is just how much of Anderson's signature nuance and character is achevied with software in post-production work, after shooting. The camera captures much of what you will see in the final product, but perhaps far less than you would have thought.
